Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a common condition characterized by pain, numbness, and weakness in the hand and wrist due to compression of the median nerve. Various treatment options are available, including medication and physical therapies. Recent studies have explored the efficacy of acupuncture as a treatment modality for CTS. Below are findings from research comparing acupuncture to conventional treatments.

Acupuncture has been found to be more effective than ibuprofen in improving both function and symptoms. This conclusion is based on a randomized controlled trial by Hadianfard et al. (2015), which compared acupuncture combined with night wrist splints to ibuprofen with night wrist splints, involving 50 participants.
